Character & origin

The wine in detail

Ask us

Rubaiyat Petit Verdot 2020 from Marufuji comes from Katsunuma in Yamanashi. Petit Verdot leads the blend, complemented by Tannat. The wine matures for 14 months in new oak barrels.

Ripe fruit is accompanied by vanilla and caramel. Concentrated, lively fruit meets soft tannins and gentle acidity on the palate. New oak adds spicy notes to the full-bodied character.

The winery

Marufuji

In Katsunuma, the Omura family continues the story of Marufuji. Its Rubaiyat wines are dry expressions of Koshu and European grape varieties. The unusual brand name refers to the poetry of Omar Khayyam and to an encounter that is still reflected on the labels today.
