L'Escalier Bleu 2022
An expressive anniversary wine marking the 35th anniversary of Takahata Winery, bringing together Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon in a deep, smooth and age-worthy red wine. The label, created especially for this wine by Takashi Hara, reflects the visual language of his “Stairs” series and symbolises the path of the winery: maturing, growing and shaping the future step by step.
This full-bodied red wine shows aromas of blueberry, plum, chocolate and coffee, accompanied by a fine note of vanilla from its long maturation in French oak barriques. On the palate, it is soft, round and at the same time concentrated, with ripe tannins, dark fruit and a long finish. Already accessible today, it also has the potential for further ageing. A characterful food companion for pink-roasted saddle of lamb with herb jus, braised beef shoulder with red wine sauce, glazed veal breast and truffle jus.
